Apeel Sciences is on a mission to prevent food waste across the supply chain. They came to us with an ask: create an eye-catching, interactive unit to house a scanner that determines the ripeness of avocados and gives customers and retailers better buying information.

We began with the scanner itself and created a unit that featured sleek, modern branding, approachable copy and touchscreen for shoppers to interact with. Divots on the base of the unit allowed for multiple avocados to be placed there and then tested. We partnered with an outside vendor to bring the design to life and outfit it with all the tech needed for its big debut.
