The Great American Elf Adventure was a contest developed and executed by Macy's Parade team, myself and a designer. To kick it off, 10,000 of plastic elves were hidden in Macy's stores across the country. Clues were released in social media, encouraging people to look for them in stores, then decorate them for the chance to have their elf made into a balloon for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. We had over 1,000 submissions, 85 finalists and one grand-prize winner chosen by the community.
